Situated just North of Stellenbosch, Paarl is home to additional picturesque wine farms, cheese factories, mountain hikes, craft beer breweries, botanical gardens, an excellent variety of restaurants and much more. Remember that each wine estate will have a different set up and offer a variety of activities when you are there (some free and some at additional cost). We have highlighted two of our favourites in Paarl below which have multiple restaurants, cafes, tastings and shopping on site. Please use the websites to understand what activities are available. The suggestions below are a mix of both family and adult activities, have a click around to see what sparks your interest.

A place close to Shana's heart, Hermanus is the beach town where she spent many Christmas holidays with her family at her Ouma's Beach House. A quaint beach town surrounded by mountains, Hermanus and Onrus (neighbouring towns) is the perfect coastal get away for anyone wanting to enjoy the magic that is unlocked by simply walking along the Cliff Park Walk, having sunny sundowners on the beach or eating at any of the independent restaurants. Not to mention that within a 10minute drive you can find yourself at some of the best wine farms in the Western Cape. Lots of locals have beach houses in this area so there is always plenty of Airbnb options of places to stay, or alternatively you could look into guest houses (BNB).
